" Big Thing " es la primera canción que abre el álbum de 1988 que tiene el mismo nombre, un disco que tiene algo de Arcadia (Palomino, Land), algo de soul de Notorious (Big Thing, Drug), algunas logradas baladas (Too Late..) mas nuevas ideas de moda a fines de los ’80, el House (All She Wants Is) se grabo a mediados de 1988 (Mayo-Junio) en los estudios Davout en Paris, Francia.
La canción tiene un gran juego de coros (tipo Gospel de Harlem), vientos y una marcada rítmica, que me hace pensar que se quedo afuera del álbum “Notorious “ de casualidad. La letra podría tomarse como una oda a la drogas que levantan y estimulan. Esta canción era a menudo la primera en el setlist del Tour de 1988-89 (después del sonido en off del recitado God (London)) que Simon Le Bon grabo y no perdía fuerza en su versión en vivo.
Fue editada en modo promocional en México y UK, limitada a emisoras de radio y clubs, para promover el álbum con I Don't Want Your Love y All She Wants Is como lados B y recientemente se conocieron dos versiones remixadas que vieron la luz en una edición remasterizada de “Big Thing” en Septiembre de 2010, grabadas y nunca editadas.
