En 2005 Scissor Sisters fue banda soporte en una parte de la gira Reunion Tour que comenzó en 2004, y en una entrevista a la revista Interview Anna Matronic y Jake Shears (vocalistas de la banda) compartieron una nota muy amigablemente con los cinco Duran, hablaron del Pop de los ’80 y lo que dejo Duran en muchas bandas. Esa buena onda fue retomada cinco años después, Nick comento “Me emocione al conseguir a Ana, ella era una tentación para la canción, y la llevo lejos, es muy segura de lo que hace, ella tenia unas líneas escritas de antemano pero una vez en el estudio, las volvió a escribir!. Pero lo mejor fue que Mark logro combinar algo de Chic con Larry Levan (DJ de los ’80) sin dejar de ser una canción natural”.
Safe fue grabada a mediados de julio de 2010 y mantiene la simpleza y una melodía agradable, muy de primera toma con un gran aporte de Ana Matronic, y los coros de Tawiah .
En una entrevista de noviembre de 2010 Nick dijo que las pistas fueron regrabadas por Simon varias veces para lograr lo que buscaban.
John agrego “Nació de unas líneas de bajo que se mantienen por toda la melodía, muy disco, con algunos loop aportados por Mark con referencias postpunk de Nueva York de bandas como ESG y Liquid Liquid Fantastic”.
Actualmente se la puede escuchar en la gira All You Need Is Now Tour con una gran interpretación de Anna Ross, en un par de ocasiones y por sorpresa subio junto a la banda Ana Matronic.
